Extremely Important Note!
Our Veterans Program is on hold.
We have been hoping that our efforts would be recognized and understood as beneficial by the DoD, but the DoD has decided, year after year, to deny us access to each branch’s COOL program. Our program of offering free classes to members of the military has benefitted hundreds of veterans and transitioning service members since 2018, and has always been contingent on the eventual funding we might get. All of this has failed, and our company is now forced to make a painful decision
With the extremely weak economy, and the state of anti-Agile companies spreading negative messages about the Agile movement in social media, our industry is experiencing the smallest demand for our classes that we’ve ever seen.
To make matters worse, Rick Waters leads Scrum.Vet and Wisecrum Associates (now operating under New World of Work), and his cancer is back again. Rick was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in 2018, and he has been battling it for the last 6 years. Though Rick and his doctors thought they had beat back the cancer earlier this year, they were wrong, and Rick has already begun another aggressive round of chemotherapy that will be followed by ‘maintenance chemotherapy’ for the rest of his life. Rick is not looking for sympathy – he would like you to understand why Scrum.Vet is being put on an indefinite hold though.
If the current situation changes, we will start up Scrum.Vet again. In the meantime, you may get infrequent invitations to classes that you requested. These invitations may or may not be for free classes. And, they will likely come from trainers that are sympathetic to Rick’s cause. If you have any question about the legitimacy of an invitation you are receiving, please do not hesitate to email Rick: wisdom@wisecrum.com.
Thank you for your service.
Helping US Military Veterans gain certified skills they will need to enter the civilian world of work, using the natural leadership skills they already have.
An affordable way to become Scrum and Kanban certified
Our Scrum certification classes are backed by Scrum Alliance, the first, largest, and most respected Agile certification authority. Our Kanban classes are backed by the accredited Lean Kanban University, founded by David J. Anderson, who brought Kanban to the IT industry world-wide.
Agile Certification Classes
We offer the most sought after, truly Agile, certification classes, backed by Scrum Alliance®, and Kanban University.
Please watch this video. It explains the program, and how to get started.
Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM)
The Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) is currently the most popular, and profitable, of all certifications in the IT industry. The Scrum Master is undoubtedly an important role on the Scrum Team, and you definitely don’t want to take it on without the Gold Standard of training.
Certified Scrum Developer® (CSD)
The Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)® is the only Scrum affiliated Developer course that Scrum Alliance recognizes as supporting the tenets of Scrum. In this class students learn the foundations of Scrum and the full breadth and depth of the Developer role. Students demonstrate proficiency in the role and, upon successful completion of the course, show employers that they are dedicated to excellent engineering practices while working within a Scrum environment.
Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO)
Product Ownership is an integral part of Scrum, and few have proven to do it well. Those that truly are Product Owners have the CSPO®.
Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM)
The Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® (A-CSM) is a continuation of the CSM, and shows employers that you are serious about mastering Scrum. This course will help you solidify concepts and techniques that we don’t get to spend enough time on in the CSM class.
2024 Scrum.Vet Policy Changes
Due to recent trends in the behavior of veterans in this program, we have been forced to create and enforce some fairly restrictive rules. We are not happy that we need to do this, but it appears we must.
- Any student in the Veteran Program that registers for a class, but does not show up for class, or who drops out of class after it begins, will be permanently banned from the Veteran Program. Medical exceptions will be allowed (with proof of medical need).
- We will send out confirmation emails to all registered students in Veterans classes approximately 7 days before class starts, and 1 day before class starts. It will be the individual student’s responsibility to be prepared for class 15 minutes before class begins.
- Excuses for not being prepared for class will not be tolerated. Excuses for not showing up for class will not be tolerated.
Easy As 1…2…3…
1. Choose a course that you would like to take.
2. Get Vetted. Click the “Get Vetted” button above and fill out the form. You will receive an email from one of our trainers who verified your service.
3. You will receive an invitation to the next open class. Our classes are by invitation only. Sometimes we have to refer you to trainers who are not in our program. We will only refer you to trainers that have assured us that you will be offered a class that is severely discounted, or completely free of charge.
Free or Severely Discounted Courses
We make every effort to get you the course you are looking for, at no charge to you. While we can’t guarantee your class will be free (if we refer you to an outside trainer), we make every effort we can to get you the training you need at little to no cost.
Exceptional Trainers
Our trainers are not just well-intentioned practitioners. They are certified trainers from the very organizations that back the class certifications.
